Maximum insulation with maximum headroom
The Bo-dapter combines the best of both worlds: it protrudes just 15.5 mm above the sheet metal, while featuring an XPS insulation layer up to 37.5 mm thick at the thickest points of the insulation.
Bo-dapter insulation panels for floor insulation in campervans Crafter
Discover the Bo-dapter – the innovative solution for effective insulation of your camper floor! Our XPS insulation boards are impact-resistant (300kPa) and weigh less than 5 kg for Crafter in length L3 or 6.5 kg for length L4. With only 15.5 mm of additional height to the floor panel, you can maximize the standing height in your camper without having to compromise on thermal insulation or sound insulation. At the same time, cavities at all height levels of the floor panel are optimally filled with an insulation thickness of up to 37.5 mm , thus achieving the best possible insulation values.
The floor insulation is made of extruded polystyrene foam (XPS), which is precision-machined on a CNC milling machine to match the exact floor contour of the vehicle. In addition to its high thermal insulation properties, the material offers impressive compressive strength of 300 kPa (approx. 30 t/m²) and dimensional stability. Furthermore, the material is moisture-resistant and can be used even at temperatures as low as -50 °C. The XPS panels are also free of HBCD flame retardants, as well as chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and propellants containing HCFCs and HFCs.
In addition to the extremely low weight of the XPS floor insulation itself, the full-surface installation offers further weight advantages when using the Bo-dapter. Because the floor slab rests on the entire surface of the insulation and the insulation has high compressive strength, the floor slab can be chosen to be almost any thickness, allowing for a weight reduction in the mid-double-digit kilogram range, depending on the selected floor slab. Alternative insulation solutions typically rely on a wooden subframe, between which the actual insulation is installed. Since this subframe cannot serve a load-bearing function and must not be compressed to achieve the desired insulation effect, the floor slab spans the underlying insulation, creating voids. The floor panel must be selected with sufficient thickness to reduce floor deflection under load. With full-surface insulation using CNC-milled XPS elements, this problem does not exist, and the floor can rest on the entire surface, optimally transferring the load to the floor panel and the vehicle structure.
The Bo-dapter is easy to install - you can complete the floor insulation of your crafter in just 30 minutes to 1 hour. The full-surface support of the panels prevents the floor from rocking.
How is the floor laid?
The panels are coated with adhesive in spots or over the entire surface and laid on the vehicle floor. To prevent relative movement of the panels, e.g. when the vehicle is twisted, we also recommend applying adhesive to the edges of the panels. The floor insulation is completed in less than 60 minutes and you can continue with the removal of the vehicle. We recommend weighing down the panels or the floor panel with weights while the adhesive dries. Alternatively, the removal can also be continued directly after the floor insulation has been installed, as the motorhome conversion naturally also exerts weight on the panels for the drying time. This means that no time has to be spent waiting with this insulation solution.
